Memphis and Tennessee have agreed to a women's basketball home-and-home series, a Memphis athletic department spokesperson confirmed Friday to The Commercial Appeal. The series is set to begin in 2023-24, and the deal was made following Memphis' hire of first-year coach Alex Simmons , a former star forward at Tennessee. Specific dates and other details were not made available. Simmons (then under her maiden name of Fuller) was on a pair of national championship teams at Tennessee (2007 and 2008), where she played for legendary coach Pat Summitt.
