MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Greater Memphis Chamber has been awarded a grant that will fund workforce training. The Workforce Invest Grant, through the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), will be used as a catalyst to increase targeted employment training and education across the Mid-South, officials said in a news release. First up, the Chamber is partnering with the Goodwill Excel Center to offer training for at least 60 individuals to fill high-demand-jobs. Employment predictions indicate, according to the Chamber, that a significant stream of manufacturing, logistics and other kinds of jobs are coming to the Mid-South that will need to be filled for employers.
